3rd Sunday after the Epiphany 2026: The Call to Follow
This Sunday's readings focus on radical discipleship inspired by Christ's light.
Isaiah foretold that light would shine in Galilee, transforming even the most despised areas into places of divine activity, a prophecy fulfilled when Jesus launched his ministry there.
Psalm 27 urges us to seek God's face above all, while Paul reminds the Corinthians to avoid divisions and stay centered on Christ crucified.
The Gospel recounts Jesus calling his first disciples with a simple command: "Follow me." They respond without hesitation, leaving everything behind. This call still echoes today: "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has drawn near. Follow me." How will we answer?
