Join us for All Saints 2025

The Season After Pentecost 2025

St. John the Divine

Hello, Reader!

This morning, we gather for Mass, and we would love for you to join us.

We hope you'll join us both as we grow together in prayer, praise, and fellowship.

All Saints 2025 Readings Summary

This year’s All Saints readings present a compelling view of God's eternal kingdom and what it entails to be part of His faithful people.

In Daniel 7:1-3, 15- 18, we see a vision of chaos and earthly powers, but with a clear promise: the holy ones of the Most High will receive and inherit God’s kingdom forever. No matter how mighty earthly forces appear, the saints' inheritance is certain.

Psalm 149 urges us to celebrate with joyful praise—through singing, dancing, and rejoicing in God's victory—while also standing as witnesses to His justice in the world.

Ephesians 1:11-23 assures us that our inheritance is already secure through Christ. We have been sealed with the Holy Spirit as a guarantee of what's to come, and the same resurrection power that raised Christ is at work in all believers.

In Luke 6:20-31, Jesus flips worldly values by introducing the Beatitudes. The poor, hungry, and grieving are now called blessed—the kingdom already belongs to them. He challenges us to radical love: loving enemies, doing good to those who hate us, and treating others as we want to be treated.

These readings together remind us that we are called to live as citizens of a kingdom that is already present, trusting in God’s faithfulness and following Christ's self-giving love.

Did you know we have a webpage for each Sunday service? We aim to stay a week ahead, so you can view the readings and more from the week prior if you'd like. Or go back and see what we did!

A Note From The Priest

The St. John the Divine Outreach Committee is asking members to bring canned goods & nonperishable items to church to assist LOVE Inc. in distributing food and essential items to the people of this community who will not be receiving SNAP benefits or are otherwise in need at this time.

During November (5 Sundays), as you shop, please pick up additional items and drop them off at church. There will be boxes at the entrances.

May your generosity make it necessary for me to make more than one trip to Love, Inc.! Thank you for your support and care.

Peace, Mary+
