The Scriptures for the Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost, 2025
Numbers 11:4–6, 10–16, 24–29: God’s Spirit rests on unexpected people, demonstrating that His gifts are not restricted.
Psalm 19:7–14: God’s law is flawless, providing wisdom, joy, and light to everyone who follows it.
James 5:13–20: We are encouraged to pray in all situations, pursue healing, and help restore each other's faith.
Mark 9:38–50: Jesus teaches that God acts beyond our limits, warns against causing others to stumble, and calls us to live peacefully.
These readings remind us that God’s Spirit moves freely, His word guides us, prayer strengthens us, and Christ calls us into peace and holiness.
